The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, on Tuesday played host to the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Lagos Chapter led by Dr Benjamin Olowojebutu at the Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
This was revealed in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja, SP Benjamin Hundeyin and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP.
The meeting was aimed at mapping out workable plans towards enhancing the health and wellbeing of police officers within the Command. CP Fayoade had upon assumption of duty issued a ten-point strategic roadmap, one of the points being “partnership with the health sector to ensure the continuous wellbeing of officers for healthy and quality service delivery.”
Dr. Olowojebutu assured the CP of the readiness of his association to help improve the wellbeing of officers. He particularly updated the CP on ongoing plans with the Medical Officer of the Command, ACP (Dr) Abosede Salami, to assist the police with medical services both at police medical facilities and through other government/private medical facilities.
CP Fayoade commended the partnership, noting that it would improve service delivery of officers and men of the Command; he also encouraged other well-meaning Nigerians/associations to partner with the police for improved security in Lagos State.
