AIG Zone 2 meets top officers, calls for proactive policing to boost security

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 2 Command comprising Lagos and Ogun States, Adegoke M. Fayoade, has charged principal officers to be more proactive, adopt community policing strategies and improve public relations to aid intelligence gathering which is key in crime fighting.

AIG stated this in a security meeting with Commissioners of Police, Strategic and Tactical Commanders within Zone 2 Command on Wednesday 22nd January, 2025, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP report.

He said the lecture was aimed at ensuring security around the zone as we proceed in the Year 2025.

Speaking further, the AIG stressed on the need for physical and covert policing to rid the Zone of criminal elements while emphasizing on collaboration with sister agencies and partnership with members of the public, charging them to identify black-spots and beef up security in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

In attendance at the lecture were the Commissioners of Police in charge of Lagos State Command CP Olanrewaju Ishola, psc+, mnips, CP Lanre Ogunlowo PhD, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Ogun State and all Area/Squadron Commanders within the Zone.
