President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday removed the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC and appointed Aminu Maida.
Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Until Maida’s appointment, Prof Umar Danbatta had been the EVC of NCC since 2015.
Other appointments in agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy:
MD / CEO, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) — Nkechi Egerton-Idehen; Postmaster General / CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) — Tola Odeyemi
Meanwhile, the President retained the appointment of the DG / CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) — Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and the National Commissioner / CEO of Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) — Dr. Vincent Olatunji.
Also, Tinubu approved the appointment of Idris Alubankudi as Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy.
By this directive of the President, the appointments mentioned above take immediate effect.
