TASSA 2025: CP Moshood Jimoh harps on importance of safety cautiousness in national development

The Tochlight Africa Safety Summit and Award (TASSA) 2025 took place on July 3, 2025, at the LCCI Conference & Exhibition Center in Lagos, Nigeria. The event’s theme, “Bridging Security Gaps For A Safety-Conscious Society: A Holistic Approach,” resonated with attendees from various sectors. The summit aimed to promote safety cautiousness and national development, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss pressing safety issues.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, was ably represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC Administration, Lagos Command, DCP Khan Khan Shalihu, who delivered a powerful opening address on safety consciousness. The CP’s presentation highlighted the importance of collective efforts in ensuring safety consciousness in the state and Nigeria. He emphasized that safety is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of all citizens.

Other notable attendees included Sector Commander Kehinde Hamzat of the FRSC Lagos Sector Command; Commander, NDLEA Lagos Strategy Command, Abubakar Liman Wali ably represented ACN Adewole Timothy, Ikeja Area Commander of the NDLEA Lagos State Strategic Command; Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Board member of LSSTF; Engr. Jamiu Badmos, Founding Partner of Finsbury Heinz Limited and Special Adviser on Health to Lagos State Governor, Dr. Olukemi Ogunyemi; Representative of LASTMA General Manager, Chairman of POCACOV Lagos State, Dr. Moses Oladimeji and other Security and Safety Agencies graced the summit.

The summit provided a platform for security agencies in Nigeria to share insights and best practices on promoting safety and national development. Discussions centered on bridging security gaps and adopting a holistic approach to creating a safety-conscious society. Attendees agreed that the event was a significant step towards achieving a safer and more secure nation.
