In a move to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal, some notable individuals has taken it upon themselves to help the government in achieving this task.
Prophet Godwin Ikuru, founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, is among individuals that is helping the government reach out to it’s citizens with palliatives.
Concerned about the people’s welfare, especially the motorist in this hard times, Prophet Ikuru came up with the distribution of fuel pallatives to the communities in Lagos as a way of giving back to the society and a show of love.

Prophet Godwin Ikuru, August 30, reachout to the people of Itire, Surulere community in Lagos State, Nigeria with 5 litters of fuel at the Mobil fuel station.

The founder, Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry arrived the Mobil fuel station, Itire Surulere with a T-shirt featuring his image alongside those of Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu and Nigeria’s president, Tinubu with the inscription, ”Fuel Palliatives Reaching Out to the Masses” by Prophet Godwin Ikuru.
A rider, full of excitement. “It goes a long way for me. I wish it will keep going on and on,” he said.
The gesture from the prophet means a lot to an average Nigeria especially now that a liter of fuel is priced at N600 and above in some regions.

At least, 100 tanks of both private cars, tricycle (Keke) operators, bus drivers and motorcycle (Okada) Riders got 5 liters of fuel that amounts to 3,000 Naira or more person.

Having a chat with the media after the distribution, the prophet said the pallatives distribution is not gain political appointment, but for his love for Tinubu.
According to him, “you do not support a government because of appointment, but for the love you have for the person and the nation too. I love Tinubu and I am very confident with this government. I will do my best for the government. I believe that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver,”
He urged Nigerians to love the government and work towards producing results and not love for money, “Together we will build this nation to a better place”
The people could not hold back their joy with the gesture they see as unusual for an individual to be so kind to distribute free fuel for them.
Isaac, A Tricycle driver, (Keke) said, it’s a relief to him as the 5 litters will go a long way for him on his work. He thanked the prophet on this gesture and pray that God blesses him more and called on other Nigerians who can afford this , to the same too.
To Valentine, he said, ”I was just going and someone told me about it. I am very happy about it. make the prophet live long. Infact, make e m be president serf. But, I want make government try reduce the price so that the person wey dey give us this fuel go feat do more,” Valentine spoke in pirgin.

Isaac Steven, a Lagos Rider: It’s a welcome development. For someone to act like Jesus when he saw people hungry, he fed them. It’s a good development from the Ministry to have pity on the people. If we all do little, we will together so much. With this free fuel, I can use it for today.

Also, Godwin said he has packed his car since three days because of fuel. Felt so have happy for this. He said, more of this people should come out and do something like this too.
This palliatives according to him will continue and by God’s grace it will go beyond Lagos. Nigerians should learn to help people and not wait or leave it for the government alone, Prophet Godwin Ikuru said.
Prophet Ikuru was popular for his concise prophesies and spiritual support for Tinubu as he was one of the men of God who went all out to promote Tinubu’s aspiration.
He said, he came to love Tinubu when he first contested for governorship in Lagos. “When he became the governor, he did everything he said and I was like, if he becomes the president, that means Nigeria will be a better place. That is why I strongly believe in him,” he said.
