Ojodu LCDA Chairman Empowers residence, says its empowerment skills will continue

Executive Chairman, Ojodu LCDA Hon. David Olusegun Odunbaku has said that its empowerment skills for its citizens will not be a one-off thing but a continuous one as he empowers residents.

The chairman who made this known while addressing citizens and residents of Ojodu LCDA at the two weeks empowerment program organized by him urged them to utilize the training opportunity and all the to gain financial and economic independence amidst teaming challenges in the country while promising them that it’s not a one-off thing but a continuous one as more programs are in stock.

He disclosed that participants will be duly certified in their various chosen fields after being tutored by seasoned professionals and instructors.

The two weeks empowerment program is part of the chairman’s commitment to the actualization of his HEYS Agenda (Health, Education, Youth & Women Empowerment, and Social Infrastructure) by partnering with SPEED-UP LAGOS; an initiative of Lagos State Government, to empower the citizens through vocational and skills acquisition.

The 2-week training which commenced on Monday 7th February would expose participants to intensive training on fabrics/souvenir production, catering and food technology, make-up and Gele, cosmetics production and home essentials, fish farming, mechanical engineering, and electronics.

Lara Odunuga, from the training center in Shogunro Ogba, one of the beneficiaries of Make-up/organic product training, expressed her gratitude to Hon. Odunmbaku for organizing the training session.
“I thank our Chairman for giving us this sound training. When we finish, I can have a source of making money by rendering services to people and producing my products. At least, I can become my boss too” Lara said.

One of the facilitators, an agent of Necessary Measure against Poverty and Perversity (NEMAPP) under the SPEED-UP Lagos initiative, Remilekun Onasanya expressed her eagerness to improve the lives of participants at the Centre through the training sessions, and also lauded the Executive Chairman for catering for the empowerment needs of Ojodu citizens which would culminate into the realization of the society of our dream.

Likewise, the HOD Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Olagbenro clamored for more publicity amongst the residents concerning the benefit-studded training session.

“These cost a fortune at other training institutes, but our Executive Chairman, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku in collaboration with SPEED-UP Lagos has made it available for the citizens free of charge. This is a rare opportunity that should be earnestly utilized. So, we’d further use various means to draw the attention of the citizens to the prospects program.”
