The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has paid a condolence visit to prominent human rights lawyer, Monday Onyekachi Ubani (MOU) over the passing of his father and patriarch of the Ubani family, Pa Ubani who died at the age of 101.
Barrister Ubani while commending the group on their visit said; ” Of all the journalists I know, you are the first people to visit me with a letter of tribute. It will be compiled in the funeral program.
‘‘I want to thank you very much on behalf of me and my family. We appreciate the members of this association. Look at the kind of love we have enjoyed,” he said.
Commenting on his recent success to EFCC, he said; ‘‘I want to appreciate you that whenever there is news about me, you always circulate it including my victory over the EFCC and in the NIN case. Even if they don’t pay the money, I know that the pronouncement is on record and it has been made public all over the world. When I get all the victories, I kneel and I thank God.
‘‘I am proud to be a friend of journalists. I am grateful. My prayer is that you will all know God. Thank you for being part of the struggle to propagate my ideas. When I wanted to be Chairman of the NBA Ikeja branch, I got it. It is a place where we have everybody, Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos, everybody. I am proud to be a Nigerian,” he said.
The groups president, Oki Samson at the visit affirmed that his members will be presence at the funeral ceremony in Abia State.
On behalf the union, Oki expressed his deep appreciation to the barrister who says plays a key role in fostering the progress of the media body.
The visit was led by the president of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), Oki Samson and was warmly received by Barr. Ubani, his wife, and the rest of the family at his residence in Lagos.
Barrister Ubani is also the legal adviser of the union.
