Experts urge Nigerians to grow economy with social media

Nigerians has been urged to use their social media handles in growing the economy than using it for just fun.

CEO, Prince Class Couture Designs, Prince Ifeanyi Orji Precious, made this call at the Nigeria Social Media Conference and Awards 2023 organised by Celebrity Crush Tv on August 31st at LCCI Expo and Conference Center with the theme ‘The Power of Social Media, (the good, the bad and the ugly).

The social media expert, said Nigerians, especially the youths can make impacts, grow the economy with the use of their social media handles as he compare Nigeria with China. “China will always boost their economy with social media. They post whatever innovation they do for all to see and buy, but, Nigerians will rather use their handles for fun than promoting a good content that will add value to them and the economy,”

According to him, instead of using it for just fun we can use it to grow the economy by creating content to that will grow the economy. “Make sure you are creating a content that will grow the economy and yield value to yourself and the government so that you do not blame the government later,” he urged.

He reiterated that social media was created to make us better and expand our businesses for more competitions.

Ifeanyi added that lack of knowledge has made people fall victims of the risk in social media. ” They are some books that will be opened and when it does. It will make you know that all those things you posted were not hidden, especially, the negative side. Past post can hurt you in future,” he warns.

“Social Media was created for business, information. Most people never realise or know the harm that they post, mostly, naked, nude videos and pictures. Africa has a culture. Our African culture must not be rules out. You can sell your uniqueness with your social media, he added.

CEO, Balofem properties and Co. Real Estate Service, Balogun Femi Alani, who spoke on using social media to sell properties, said, one can gain clients when you post online.

He advised Nigerians not to let the false things “Do not let the false things you see online discourage you. They are also some good contents that can impact you. If you are a Real Estate person, you can make sales through social media,” he advised
