The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has expressed profound sorrow over the sudden passing of Mr. Sylvester Enoghase, the Business Editor of Independent Newspapers.
In a statement issued by the organization, CPPE described Enoghase as a distinguished journalist, passionate advocate of private sector development, and a trusted ally of Nigeria’s business community.
According to the Centre, the late journalist consistently demonstrated professionalism, diligence, humility, and an unwavering commitment to economic development throughout his career. Through his reporting and analysis, he played a significant role in highlighting issues affecting businesses and enhancing public understanding of key economic policies and reforms.
The organization noted that Enoghase’s dedication to business journalism and support for private sector advocacy earned him widespread respect among colleagues, policymakers, and members of the organized private sector.
“His passing is a painful loss, not only to the media profession but also to all who are committed to the cause of enterprise, investment, and economic progress in Nigeria,” the statement read.
CPPE further stated that it would deeply miss his friendship, encouragement, and invaluable contributions to its advocacy efforts over the years.
The Centre extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the management and staff of Independent Newspapers Nigeria Limited, as well as members of the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN).
It prayed for divine comfort for all those affected by the loss and for the peaceful repose of his soul.“May Almighty God comfort all those he left behind and grant his gentle soul eternal rest. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.
