The atmosphere in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was charged with political activities on Saturday as party leaders, women groups, supporters and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged for the North-Central Mega Rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Among the key women leaders who received the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, was the Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, whose directorate is coordinating grassroots women mobilisation for the campaign.

The rally, held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, brought together party faithful and supporters in a show of political solidarity with President Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Edu, who is coordinating the APC PCC’s nationwide grassroots women mobilisation, is driving efforts to engage women across the country in support of the party’s campaign.
The initiative, under the supervision of the First Lady, seeks to strengthen women’s participation in the party’s political activities across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Directorate has set a target of mobilising 40 million women’s votes through its grassroots engagement strategy, covering 176,846 communities and polling units nationwide.
The campaign is anchored on the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 message of From Reforms to Prosperity, with a focus on expanding awareness and engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
