In a move that promises to potentially record huge success against illicit drug racketeering in Lagos State, the number one, northern traditional youth chief in seventeen southern states of Nigeria, Ambassador, Doctor, Sani Salisu DanMuttaqa, has while, declaring his palace’s readiness to kick-start an effective partnership with the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in the fight against substance abuse in Lagos State, stated that, capital punishment should be given a look in towards permanently solving drug related menace in Lagos State, the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria.
Speaking moments after an official visit to the Lagos State command headquarters of the NDLEA situated on plot 4, Shaw road, Ikoyi, during which the strategic drug war partnership was activated, the youth royalty, with the traditional title of Sarkin Samarin Yamma, translated as leader of northern traditional youth chiefs in 17 southern states of Nigeria, commended the Lagos State command of the NDLEA for the vigour and relentlessness it has continued to demonstrate in the fight to drastically curtail illicit drug dealings in the State of aquatic splendor, adding that, Lagos State NDLEA under the stewardship of Commander, Abubakar Liman Wali, deserves a pat on the back for a yeoman’s job, stating further that, the palace of the Sarkin Samarin Yamma, is desirous of lending all the support it can to fight drug abuse menace in Lagos State and beyond, utilising the train the trainer model to complement the efforts of Law Enforcement Agencies.

The office of the youth chief had two months ago, organised a classic event in Lagos, to celebrate royal cultures and used the occasion to advocate against substance abuse; the Lagos State NDLEA Commander, Abubakar Liman Wali, gave a lecture on the many ills of uncontrolled drug use, as the guest speaker at the event.
Appreciating the sterling performance of the Lagos NDLEA under Commander Abubakar, council of Arewa traditional youth chiefs across the 17 southern states of Nigeria under the leadership of ambassador Sani Salisu DanMuttaqa, the Sarkin Samarin Yamma, presented the drug war chief with an award of commendation, while, also officially presenting their elaborate proposal on the practical mechanism to fight drug abuse in Lagos State and Nigeria at Large.
