The Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2026 has been signed into law.
President Bola Tinubu assented to the law at the State House on Wednesday at a brief ceremony attended by principal officers of the National Assembly and senior government officials.
National Assembly members passed the amendment bill on Tuesday after weeks of contentious debates on key electoral reforms, especially the mode of transmitting election results.
