A SuperComputer, Polymarket, has predicted that the host nation of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco, is likely to win the trophy.
As the tournament enters the semi-final stage, teams such as Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, and Morocco are poised for a series of high-stakes showdowns.
On Wednesday evening, the Teranga Lions will face the Pharaohs for a place in the final, while the Super Eagles battle the Atlas Lions later that night.
In rating the teams’ prospects, Polymarket gave Morocco a 37% chance of emerging as champions on home soil, while Senegal were credited with a 28% chance.
The Super Eagles were ranked as third favourites with a 25% chance of winning what would be their fourth title, while Egypt were given just a 13% chance.
While many fans and pundits shared the SuperComputer’s sentiments, others disagreed, insisting that any of the four remaining teams are capable of lifting the trophy.
