A former presidential aspirant of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2019 election, Mathias Baba Tsado, has praised the politics of Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, calling it exemplary and people-focused.
Tsado, a development strategist, made the remarks on Monday on Channels Television’s Morning Brief while answering questions on the wave of defections plaguing opposition parties
According to Tsado, while many politicians have made survival the norm by defecting to the ruling party, Natasha remains focused on delivering good governance to her constituents, saying this has made her the most famous politician in Nigeria.
Recently released Google data placed Natasha as the most searched personality in 2025.
Tsado said: “I’ve been an advocate for people-led politics, people-motivated politics, and one person that has embodied that is Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. I had once described her here as the star-girl of the National Assembly. Today, I can boldly describe her as the star girl of Nigerian politics.”
He added: “For the first time in a very long while, we have been able to identify this certain individual who has not really bothered campaigning from election to election. Rather, she’s focused on the delivery of good governance to her people.”
Tsado said that with people like Natasha, there is hope for the country.
He explained: “I think there is some kind of hope for us that we can get it right, because by my assessment, as it is today, the most popular politician in Nigeria is Senator Natasha. And it’s a great thing that we have such an individual as people are now advocating for that kind of people to be leaders in our society.”
