…Commends LSSTF boss, Ayo Ogunsan for transparency and dedication to security
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has donated 100 new operational vehicles to the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to strengthen safety across the state.
The Governor made the donation on Thursday at the 19th Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, organised by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), in Lagos.
He said the vehicles, jointly procured by the Lagos State Government and Conference 57, demonstrate his administration’s renewed dedication to protecting lives, property, and critical investments in Lagos.
According to him, effective security requires collective responsibility and sustained collaboration between government, security agencies, private sector partners, and the citizenry.
The Governor reaffirmed that the gesture aligns with the Security and Governance pillar of the THEMES+ Agenda, noting that Lagos remains committed to complementing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s national security reforms with state-level innovations.
The Governor used the medium to commend the LSSTF boss, Ayo Ogunsan for his commitment to delivering transparency.
He said: “True security is not transient, it is not something that can happen overnight but it’s built through trust, reel transparency, persistent and trustworthy policy and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund has performed a national and regional role. We have been able to show that security funding can be transparent, collaborative and be deeply impactful.”
Earlier in his speech, he said this years theme: Building Trust, Enhancing Security, and the New Era of Security and Partnership speaks to the foundation of what Lagos State Security Trust Fund Nicosin strives. Trust in institutions, trust in confidence in leadership, and a shared responsibility between government and the people.
“This can only be the real foundation of our collective commitment to safer, higher-class property, and a profession, and more importantly, the future of LSSTF. It is an affirmation of that the state is not solely the responsibility of government, but is shared with the people. A combination between government and the private sector, communities and every resident in our state.
“Security will be the foundation upon which everything else rests. Economic growth, social development, and quality of life. Investments of opportunities in the future, and the peace of mind of every Nigerian.”
He urged the people of Lagos to be more vigilant, more responsible and know that security is a shared responsibility of ‘see something, say something’.
To the security agencies, he commended their efforts and work in ensuring that Lagos remains safe and urged them to continue to stay professional.
“Stay upright people are watching you. People want you to be the best at all times. Don’t be professional in the morning, have a less professional attitude. Be consistent in what you are doing and tay committed. And God Almighty will strengthen you.
“We’ll continue to provide for you the tools, the training, the support, the technology that you require. But you must develop integrity. You must be transparent with people. And you must show compassion to the people that you serve,” he said.
