The family of veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has debunked trending online rumours of his death, insisting that the ace thespian is “alive, hale, and hearty”.
Speaking on behalf of the family in a video shared on his Instagram page, the actor’s eldest son, Leo Edochie, described the news as a “lie from the pit of hell”.
His rebuttal followed viral rumours on various social media platforms which indicated that Pete Edochie had passed away.
Reacting to the death rumours in the clip shared on his verified handle, Leo noted that the news is untrue and went on to assert that his father is in good health.
He also reminded those spreading the rumours that such innuendos often result in the victim living longer or lead to the death of those spreading the lies.
He said: “I’ve been receiving text messages and calls over the nonsense post by some people that our father, Chief Pete Edochie, is dead. It is a lie from the pit of hell.
“Our father is alive, hale, and hearty. And if you wish someone dead, two things usually happen: the person will live very long and you will die before him. Shame to all of you.”
