Lagos State Task Force have impounded 106 motorcycles in enforcement of the ban on commercial motorcyclists popularly called Okada.
The enforcement operation took place at the Iyana-School bus stop, first gate bus stop by Igbo-Elerin, Iyana Iba-LASU expressway, Megida bus stop and Ayobo roundabout axis.
According to the Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat on his X handle, he said the operation would continue across the state.
“The Lagos State Taskforce112 carried out enforcement at Iyana-School bus stop, first gate bus stop by Igbo-Elerin, along Iyana Iba-LASU express way and Megida bus stop and Ayobo roundabout. 106 motorcycles were impounded during the enforcement operation.”
Lagos state government banned the use of motorcycles in some parts of the state in 2022 and has since seized several motorcycles whose riders faulted the ban.
