Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said the Biden administration’s conversations with China and other alleged foreign dealings make it the “most corrupt” administration in United States history.
Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that President Joe Biden and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen are living in a “fantasy land” if they think there can be a diplomatic relationship between the U.S. and China.
Yellen visited Beijing and met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in an effort to ease tensions between the two nations and “seek healthy economic competition.”
“It’s dangerous to the United States,” Gingrich said. “If Yellen actually believes what she’s saying, she’s in a total fantasy land.”
“I think whether it’s on a fantasy front or a corruption front, the Biden administration is enormously dangerous to the survival of America and an enormous asset in the creation of a Chinese Communist-dominant system,” the former speaker added.
Yellen’s trip came as the Biden administration imposed restrictions on American-Chinese trade in the past year, including limiting the sale of chip-making technology. In an interview with CNN that aired Sunday, Biden said he believes there is a way to “resolve a working relationship with China that benefits them and us.”
Gingrich spoke on investigations led by the House GOP into the Biden administration and Biden’s family members, particularly those focusing on an “alleged criminal scheme” in which the Biden family took in millions of dollars from foreign groups while he was vice president.
The former speaker said there is a “break in the system” that is becoming “so sickening and so obvious.”
“Frankly, the research by the House Republicans is so compelling, that I think the whole thing’s going to break down,” Gingrich said.
House Republicans have yet to announce any concrete evidence of the “alleged criminal scheme,” but the House Oversight Committee is scheduling testimonies and hearings to present their findings.
Comer said last week that he is “hopeful” that more of the House Oversight and Reform Committee’s “disturbing findings” will be revealed this week. He believes the Biden family took in over $20 million from foreign sources in a scheme of “creating policy for money,” Comer said.
“This is the most corrupt administration in American history surrounded by people who live in a fantasy land in terms of how the world works, and the combination, I think, is an enormous danger to the very safety and survival of the United States,” he said.
