The much-anticipated capacity-building training organized by The Media NG has concluded successfully, leaving participants inspired and equipped with valuable skills.

The training, held in the Phase II area of Ogudu, Lagos, featured exceptional guest trainers within the state.

In his opening speech, Olasetan Adejare, the editor of Media NG, highlighted the importance of continuous learning and personal development, emphasizing the necessity for individuals, especially journalists, to acquire digital skills to stay relevant in the industry. One of the guest trainers, Ajiboye Ayodeji Silas, a master in digital marketing, conducted an engaging and insightful session where participants learned effective strategies to navigate the ever-changing digital landscape. Practical tips and techniques were provided to excel in their digital marketing endeavors.

Ajiboye Ayodeji, a Mass Communication graduate, expressed joy in sharing knowledge and underscored the importance of acquiring necessary skills for future job applications.A seasoned journalist with expertise in social media, Abeeb Alawiye, also attended the program, sharing his vast knowledge on leveraging social media platforms for impactful storytelling and news dissemination. Participants gained valuable insights into social media journalism, learning how to engage audiences effectively across various platforms.

Abeeb emphasized that training others is a way of giving back to society and empowering individuals when capable is what people should do.Ugochukwu Austin, a journalist with The Media NG, present at the training, encouraged all employees and participants to embrace new opportunities for growth.

“By investing in our own development, we not only enhance our individual capabilities but also contribute to the growth of our organization and the industry as a whole.

We will continue to organize trainings and seminars to improve working conditions for journalists and provide internship opportunities for students seeking a fulfilling media career.

“Additionally, one of the IT students who attended the training, Rachel Nwosu, expressed her gratitude and shared her perspective on the event. She mentioned, “As an IT student, this training broadened my understanding of how digital skills are crucial in today’s media landscape. The insights shared by the trainers were invaluable, and I now feel more confident in applying these skills to enhance my future career prospects.”

Rachel concluded by offering her appreciation to Media NG for providing such opportunities for students.
