The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated an operational vehicle to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Lagos State Command, as part of efforts to strengthen community-based security and intelligence gathering across the state.

The presentation fulfills a promise earlier made by the LSSTF boss, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan when the leadership of the VGN Lagos Command paid a courtesy visit to the LSSTF HQ, Ikeja, Lagos.

During that meeting, the LSSTF boss assured the Group of the Fund’s readiness to support credible community policing initiatives that complement the efforts of formal security agencies in Lagos. “We will revive you in Lagos. By Friday we will give you an operational vehicle,” Ogunsan stated.
The vehicle was presented by the Director of Administration of LSSTF, Mr. Adegbola Lewis, on behalf of the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Fund, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan. It was received by the State Commander of VGN Lagos Command, Commander Sesan Oguntunde, alongside other senior officers of the command.
Members of the Commander’s entourage includes; Deputy Commander, DC Ogunbowale Taofiki; Deputy Commander, DC Olushola Awe; Assistant Commander (Administration), AC Ashafa Opeyemi; and Assistant Commander (Intelligence), AC Ekundayo Gabriel.
The donation is expected to enhance the operational mobility of the VGN Lagos Command. It will enable them to respond more effectively to security concerns within communities and support law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and public safety.
