Lagos first lady, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu calls for women’s inclusion in policy making

Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has called on Nigerian women to step up and take a more proactive role in policy making, emphasizing the need for greater female representation in positions of influence.

The first lady made this known on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) convention at Eko Hotel, Lagos.

She noted that some women are shy and reticent in bringing forward their potential while in a larger group, “But such women have hidden potential which would only manifest when they are put in smaller group of 10 or 5.

“Women should be seen in position of policy making and not only in the other room.

“A lot of us women seated in this hall have potential that are hidden. Some don’t know they are good academically, some are good in making women up,” she added.

Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu commended POWA for supporting their husbands, “We appreciate the good works your husbands are doing and we thank you for your unwavering support.”
