Lagos chapter C&S Unification holds Joint Lenten Service

The Lagos State chapter of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, on Friday, March 27, 2026, held its annual Joint Lenten Service as part of its activities for the year.


The chapter’s Joint Lenten Service is an annual event organised by the body to worship together and teach the church’s Lenten doctrines and liturgies among its members in the state.
The event, held at the Ogo Oluwa C&S Church headquarters at Gbeto Street, Iwaya area of the Lagos metropolis, drew a mammoth worshippers from across the state.


The fairly capacious church complex was filled to the brim and turned into a beehive of to celebrate the Lenten season in one accord and the event witnessed several church leaders in the state were in attendance. The event was graced by Secretary General of the Church in Nigeria, Snr. Apostle Tayo Ajose and several prominent members of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Unification Church.


In his address to worshippers at the occasion, Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Unification Church, Special Apostle (Dr.) Segun Adio JP, called for concerted efforts among members of the church to further unite the body of Christ. He also assured of ceaseless prayers from Seraphs for peace and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians. His words, “We, as a body of Christ, needed to outgrow and jettison any form of disunity and the spirit of I-for-Paul-You-for-Apollos that is still prevalent among us… We also need to, without ceasing, pray for our nation, Nigeria and our leaders at all levels, while we also need to intercede in prayers for the leadership of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria at all strata.”


In his short sermon at the service, Spiritual Head of Jah Jehovah Jireh Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Oke Ira, Ogba, Supt. Apostle (Engr.) Olatunde Davies, called on Seraphs to remain disciplined in faith and teaching of Christ and as ambassadors of Christ here on earth, “We should remained guard our hearts against lust of the eyes, flesh and worldly pursuits”. The crème de la crème of the Lagos State chapter Executive were present at the event, led by Most Snr. Apostle Prophet (Dr.) Rotimi Odugbesan (Vice Chairman), Snr. Apostle Femi Akinpelu (General Secretary), Special Apostle Adeola Ige (Financial Secretary), Snr. Apostle Gbenga Amodu (Assistant Financial Secretary), Evang. Segun Adagba (Assistant General Secretary I), Supt. Apostle Samuel Oloni (Assistant General Secretary II), Supt Apostle Aaron Amusa-Oseni, Chief Welfare Officer, Supt. Apostle Chaplain Isaac Kusa, Welfare Officer I, Prophetess Olaitan Ogunbekun, Welfare Officer II and Supt. Apostle Muyiwa Ogunbanwo (Ex officio II).


Among those present at the service were Baba Aladura Matthew Jemilugba of Christ Redemption Church of C&S, Somolu, Primate J. A. Ajibade of Holy Spiritual Joyful Church of C&S, Somolu, the host spiritual head, Baba Aladura Olatunde Omilabu, Baba Aladura Benson Agosu of New Life Church of C&S Church, Baba Aladura Segun Akinpelu of Irawo Ogo Jesu C&S Church and Vice Chairman of Organisation of African Instituted Church (OAIC) Lagos State, Bishop Prophet David Olaniyan.


Others included but not limited to Primate Elijah Adejuyigbe of Jesu Oba Oluwosan C&S Church, Mangoro, Apostle Adegboyega Proxy of Mount Sinai Ikirun Conference, Special Apostle Prophet Kehinde Adeyoju of Holy Temple Cathedral, Fadeyi, Supt. Apostle A. I. Onawomoju of Oke Igbala Wasimi II, and Messenger Bode Sobukola of Church of All Nations (GILGAL) C&S, Iya Aladura Prophetess Bolajoko Davies of Christ the Light C&S Church, Ogudu, Baba Aladura Elijah Akinlabi of Oluwa Ododo Wa C&S Church and Baba Aladura Ebenezer Shonde of New Light C&S Oke Iye Itire, and also Snr. Supt. Apostle Johnson Olatunde Adagba, the immediate past Chairman of the Lagos State chapter.


Other elders in attendance included Prophet Kayode Adeleye (Ramah) of King of Glory C&S Church, Ebute Metta, Supt. Apostle Mobolorunduro Akinniyi of St. Michael Holy Assembly C&S Church, Somolu, Snr. Rev. Apostolic Mother Adebisi Ogundipe of Imole Oluwa Ntan C&S at Abaranje, Apostle Anu Jojolawo of The Holy Church of New Jerusalem, Special Apostolic Mother Christiana Okeyemi of Idande Kristi C&S Church, Alagbado and Special Apostle Prophet Yinka Olawale of Ife Oloruntedo C&S Church, Egbe.


Several heads of Local Divisions operating under the chapter were also present at the event. They included Snr. Apostle Samuel Fasinu of Badagry Central, Supt. General Apostle Benjamin Soyemi of Lagos Mainland, Special Apostle Raphael Onabolu of Lagos Island, Prophetess Kehinde Alade of Ojo Local Division, Mother in Israel Folake Alo of Egbe Idimu, Supt. Apostolic Mother Mary Adejumo of Olorunda Local Division, Special Apostle Zacchaeus Adebowale Akanni of Alimosho Local Division and Supt Apostle Johnson Ogunlana of Ojodu Local Division, Other were Snr. Supt. Apostolic Mother Ope-Oluwa Lawal, Chairperson of Good Women Congress, Most Snr. Apostle prophet Joseph Olusan of Ojokoro Local Division, Queen captain Mother Mary Ogunsola of Mosan Okunola Local Division, Supt. Apostle Emmanuel Oladipupo of Isolo Local Division, His Eminence Snr. Apostle Gen. John Aire of Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Division, Apostle Fatai Musa, Vice Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Division, Supt. Apostle Prophet Oluwole Ajiboye, Chairman Council of Prophets & Prophetesses, Gen. Solomon Adewale Adebanjo (Ologunloluwa), Commander of Army of Salvation Band, Snr. Evang. Muyiwa Oyafunke, Choir-Master General of the Mass Choir.


Also Apostle Emmanuel Banjo and Snr. Mother in Israel (Dr.) Kemi Aladenusi, both members of the National Executive Council were also in attendance. Special Apostle Davidson Adebanjo of C&S Movement Church and arguably the oldest member in the Lagos Chapter was also in attendance.
It is noteworthy to commend members of the Lagos State Mass Choir for spicing the event up with rendition of solemn but sonorous hymnals. There is no doubt after the Centenary celebration of 2025 which brought about lull in the chapter’s activities, the Lagos State chapter will bounce back with a bang this New Year as promised by Apostle Adio.
