FCT Police foil armed robbery, arrest suspect, recover firearm, other exhibits

Police in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, have foiled an armed robbery attempt at a Karu Site residence, arresting one suspect and recovering a firearm and other exhibits.

The swift response followed a distress call received at the FCT Police Command’s emergency number at about 3:43 a.m. on December 27, 2025.

This was revealed in a statement by the SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer,
FCT Police Command,
Abuja.

According to the statement, upon sighting the police team, the suspects opened fire. The police officers responded professionally, subdued, and arrested one of the suspects identified as Abdul Mohammed, male, 20 years old, of Masaka, Nasarawa State, while two other accomplices fled the scene.

Exhibits recovered during the operation include two mobile phones, one locally fabricated firearm, four live cartridges, two knives, one cutlass, and one torchlight. The arrested suspect is currently receiving medical attention, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
