Twitter CEO, Elon Musk has revealed Linda Yaccarino as the replacement of Twitter’s Chief Executive Officer who will start operating at the social media platform in about six weeks.

This was after the Twitter boss declared that he was stepping down as soon as he found someone.

In his tweet on Thursday, Musk said the wait was over as he tweeted: “Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!”

While announcing the name of the new CEO on his page, he tweeted, “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter! Linda will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.”

“Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”

Before her appointment, she was the Chairman, Global Advertising & Partnership at NBCUniversal Media, LLC.

Yaccarino brings her decades of marketing, operations, and content distribution experience to serve all audiences and businesses. With her skills for operationalizing at scale, she was the first to revolutionize how the sales teams mobilized in the marketplace by developing a unified, tech-enabled trading system at NBC.

In his time as CEO, Musk has significantly overhauled Twitter’s policies and features, which has led to several major advertisers pausing spending on the social network. Musk rolled out a revamped, pricier Twitter Blue subscription that allows users to buy verification and recently got rid of old “legacy” verified check marks. The platform has also disbanded its trust and safety council and reinstated the accounts of previously banned users, including former president Donald Trump and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Musk’s decision to appoint a new Twitter CEO will likely appease Tesla investors, who have been concerned that Musk’s time spent on Twitter is taking him away from his position as CEO of Tesla.
