Bashir Bayo Ojulari is the newly appointed CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

- Career: He began his career as the first Nigerian process engineer at Elf Aquitaine, then joined Shell Petroleum Development Company in 1991. He’s also worked in Europe and the Middle East in various capacities, including as a petroleum process and production engineer, strategic planner, field developer, and asset manager.
- Notable Roles: Ojulari served as the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) from 2015 to 2021. He was also the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Renaissance Africa Energy Company, where he led a consortium of indigenous energy firms in acquiring the entire equity holding in the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) for $2.4 billion
- Professional Affiliations: Ojulari is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and has been a member of the board of trustees of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE Nigerian Council)
Early Wednesday morning, in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu announced the removal of Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari as Group Chief Executive Officer, led by Chairman Chief Pius Akinyelure, and appointed Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the new Group CEO and Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman.
